one week down in the new year, the moon is full, the waves are crashing, and life is feeling sweetly sublime at this moment in time. (#poem)

each friday, this space will be dedicated to five pieces I’m loving for the week across the worlds of home decor, lifestyle and wellness, with at least one (but hopefully at times all) featuring a local small business, artisan or maker I love. in an effort to keep these recommendations in line with my own efforts to stay authentic as a content creator and my greater efforts to be less wasteful as a human being, I will only recommend pieces that I own or have owned personally, focusing on brands whose sustainability practices and company ethos I can get behind. here are my finds for this week…

anthia dish from shoppe amber interiors

as far as simple styling pieces go, a shallow dish or bowl is queen in tying a vignette together perfectly on a coffee table or console. this marble dish with graceful scalloped edging might be my favorite version I’ve seen yet. mine is filled with seashells I’ve combed from many walks on the beach here, but I could also see this dish holding a pretty french bar soap in a chic, white bathroom. and at $34, it’s a budget-friendly gem among shoppe amber interior’s high-end offerings.

manifest ritual mist from muse apothecary | * made locally in southern california * | * woman-owned *

palo santo and tuberose: can you think of a fragrance combination better suited to creating mindful rituals at home? this versatile, vegan, cruelty-free mist can be used as a facial mist or room spray, and I’ve been using it as both nonstop, spraying this mist in the air before meditation or on my face before my semi-nightly gua sha routine. the scent is magical (tuberose is just completely intoxicating, isn’t it?) and I’ve truly come to associate this spray with quiet moments of self-care and grounding.

primavera alpaca throw from the citizenry

the citizenry does alpaca throws like no other — woven from peruvian alpaca wool in a soothing rainbow of every neutral under the sun, these blankets are both decadent and easily addictive. the primavera features a clean, subtle plaid pattern in my dream palette of sand, tan, camel, gray and ecru. it offers a cozy, luxe accent for the living room or bedroom.

on the hunt for a true champagne gold-colored flatware set that was dishwasher safe, I was thrilled to find this stylish set from target. amazingly high-end looking and only $50 for a 20-piece set, this flatware offers a nice, light hand-feel and pleasant mouth-feel (two things that truly matter when selecting flatware) and the faceting offers a subtle modern flair to any tablescape.

when jenni kayne released a trio of new fragrances via her oak essentials line, I rushed over to our local boutique in montecito to smell them all. this was my favorite: an easy-wearing, subtly sexy scent featuring violet, soft amber and california woods, meant to evoke “the feeling of enjoying the sunset with close friends.” I’ve been wearing the eau de parfum almost daily, and I can’t wait to burn the accompanying candle on a future cozy evening. jenni kayne's latest offering in the fragrance space is right in line with the brand’s effortlessly luxurious california style.
